UKCAT: Are the Emedica/ukcatprep.com questions near to the real test? Posted: 23 Aug 2012 01:29 PM PDT Hey guys, I'm new here so be nice to me :) I've recently purchased the ukcat practice 2 week package (my exam is on September 3rd, argh) and although this sounds a bit arrogant, I'm finding the questions extremely easy compared to the isc medical 600Q book. On the mock on the 600Q book I got a 590 average, but then on the ukcatprep.com timed tests I'm getting 85%-95%, surely this can't be right? So basically in short, is the real exam nearer to the 600Q book or ukcatprep.com in terms of difficulty? I only saw a small difference in the VR and DA sections, but AR and QR are extremely different! Thanks for your help, Irum :) |
Posted: 23 Aug 2012 10:59 AM PDT erm what can i say...OMG!!! not a good experience,a little bit disappointed with my result which means no London Universities for me. got 600 VR, 520 QR :-(, 630 AR, 620 DA. found the QR harder than what i practiced and time flew by and didnt even do almost half. anyone else applying to BSMS, SOTON, LEICESTER OR UEA?????? looks like those are my option, closest one to me is 1hr 30mins drive from mine. |
Please please help A's level grades Posted: 23 Aug 2012 10:45 AM PDT I am hoping someone might have some good advice for me. I have just received my A's results and bombed out on them receiving a D in Chemistry, C in Biology, C in Psychology and a C in English. I have wanted to study medicine since forever and I received reasonable grades for my GCSE, 3 A*, 6 A's and the rest B's, therefore it was my ambition to carry on to A Levels to study for Medicine. After receiving appalling results I really don't know what to do. Most universities it would seem only accept med students if they do there A levels over 2 years. I was thinking of re-sitting the whole year again and seeing if I can pull my grades back up but I don't know if any university would even entertain an application from someone who sat them over the 3 years. I am so devastated and now really don't know what to do as Medicine is the only thing I ever want to do. I even had my school work experiences in a hospital working with the William Harvey project which you have to be chosen to get on. Please please help I just don't know what to do now. |

Posted: 23 Aug 2012 05:24 AM PDT For the GAMSAT are the quotes we are given for each section all linked as a topic as Griffiths GAMSAT review suggests, or do they each relate to a very different topic? I'd like to know whether I can construct my own argument based on the general theme of the quotes, or whether I have to use a specific one? |
