Information for You & Your Community: Eight Tips on Talking to Youth about Tobacco

Last week, CTP shared information on youth tobacco use. Now, we invite you to learn our eight tips on talking to youth about the dangers of using tobacco.

Consider this: Each day in the United States, more than 3,800 youth under age 18 smoke their first cigarette and more than 1,000 youth under age 18 become daily cigarette smokers. If you are a parent, you play an important and influential role in the effort to prevent youth from using tobacco.

We invite you to join us along with our federal partners, via Twitter on Thursday, August 23 from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (ET) as we discuss current youth tobacco use, health consequences for youth and tips on talking to youth about living tobacco-free. Share your tips in advance and then follow us on Twitter @FDAtobacco and use hashtag #Time2Talk for a lively discussion on this important topic!
