| Where to apply, GAMSAT or UKCAT? Posted: 23 Feb 2013 03:44 PM PST Hi guys I'm new to the forum (and new to all forums in general). I wonder if anyone could offer me any advice on where I have the best chance of getting in for 2014 graduate entry. I am on track to obtain a 1st class degree in Biomedical science but have no science A levels, I have 2 weeks GP shadowing, 2 weeks hospital shadowing, 1 month volunteering in a hospital (where I got to assist in operations) and orphanage in Tanzania, am a member of St John ambulance and plan on getting a healthcare assistant job and doing some more volunteering during my gap year. Firstly, do I attempt GAMSAT and UKCAT and try to apply for uni's in both categories, or do I just focus on one test and apply to the unis who use that test? Also, does it put me at any advantage if I gain a 1st rather than a 2:1 or is a 2:1 just a cut off? I know you are only allowed 4 choices but the unis I would like to apply for include Kings, Imperial, St George's, Nottingham and Warwick (but I am open to any suggestions). Really would appreciate the advice. Thanks. |
