Passing on some info on Access to medicine - Universities answers!

Hello all!

I thought i would just pass on some of my personal findings as there seems to be questions at times over Access to medicine courses and universities!!

I have had emailed confirmation from both KCL and Cambridge that they are happy to accept Access to Medicine, providing you reach the required marks...

Cambridge stated that they were happy to accept this course as a qualification but to please be aware that they could ask for an extra AS level qualification in a science based subject at a high grade to boost your qualification score. The general gist is it could go either way... i suppose it just depended on the PS and their feelings towards the candidate applying. Also CWA being the desirable college of choice for them. However they did not completely disregard for instance College of Lambeth London when i named it.

KCL are more lienant with where their Access to Medicine courses come from, they are happy to accept from a London based college and ofcourse CWA etc. When i asked them what were my best options, it was actually them who advised me that an Access to medicine was the best option and they would be happy to accept this as a qualification (again providing you meet the required criteria pass, UKCAT, PS etc)

Newcastle are also happy to accept Access to medicine providing its from CWA. and St George's have emailed to confirm that they are happy to accept Access to medicine. All providing that you meet the qualification passes needed, UKCAT etc.

Obviously there are other Universities that do, but thought i would just share my findings on the universities i have contacted so far! Will keep up to date on any further findings with other universities!! Also i mention CWA a lot as that is the college i used in my discussions and would probably aim for!
