In need of clarification on how "choosing which result of GAMSAT" works: IRISH vs UK

Posted: 15 Mar 2013 03:14 AM PDT

OK, I have emailed the universities I would like to apply to as apparently not all of the GAMSAT universities accept the Irish GAMSAT in March. Assuming the ones I want to apply to do, I'm getting a little confused on the result that goes to the universities.

IRISH Gamsat: March 2014
UK Gamsat: September 2014

However since the applications are due in for October 2014 (Im applying for 2015 entry), I will know the result from the March 2014 GAMSAT but not the September 2014. From my understanding UCAS hold the UK scores, but not the IE/AUS scores and you have to send the score into UCAS. Now it may not be an issue if I get a high mark on the March GAMSAT and don't need to take again in September however if I were to get an average score on GAMSAT or one particular section that doesn't go as well and would like to try and improve....which result would they use?

The most recent one? The highest one? or (and this is the best scenario), even though its after the applications have gone in, can we still control which result the universities see once we find out the results of the September GAMSAT in November?

My worry is that I get a mark in March which could get me an interview but is a maybe and then take the September one in the hope of improving chances and end up getting a lower mark - but that's the mark they take (the most recent one)

I have tried searching for how this works and cant find anything...Thanks :)
