GAMSAT and UKCAT prep materials for sale

Posted: 24 Apr 2013 01:04 AM PDT

I have the following for sale as I've gained a place on a GEM course!

All four Acer GAMSAT practice booklets
AQA Chemistry AS Level by Ted Lister and Janet Renshaw
AQA Chemistry A2 Level by Ted Lister and Janet Renshaw
AQA Physics A AS level by Jim Breithaupt
CGP AS Level Physics A revision guide
Getting into medical school 2013 by Simon Horner
GAMSAT The Gold Standard DVD review
The Gold Standard Medical School Interviews DVD

Passing the UKCAT and BMAT 2008 edition by Felicity Taylor et al
600 UKCAT practice questions by Olivier Picard et al

Also I have 'In Stitches' by Dr Nick Edwards, all three books by Max Pemberton and 'Confessions of a GP' by Dr Benjamin Daniels. These books are a great insight into some of the highs and lows of being a doctor which you often may not see in your work experience!

Also I can offer you any advice with regards to sitting the GAMSAT as I did mine last year and got 65. If you are from a science background this is all you should need. You would maybe need a few more materials if you are from a non-science background.

Thanks
Richard

Advice much appreciated

I am 36 years old. I have three alevels at grade A (maths, physics, and english lit) and an MEng in Civil Engineering 1st Class. I've been working as a software developer for the past 11 years and am seriously considering a career change.

I am expecting my final child in July. I might be able to find a few weeks before the birth while on maternity leave to do some work experience. I think I could do 1 A level (or 2 AS levels) next year while applying but would struggle to do more with a new born. I could do additional work experience or volunteer work but only at weekends or a small amount during the week as the baby will be very young.

1. Am I too old?
2. What type of work experience do I need to get?
3. Would it help to do biology and chemistry A Levels as an evening course and would it be better to do an as level in both or an alevel in chemistry?
4. Would I have a realistic chance of getting on a course if I applied in October given the limited amount of specific work experience I would have been able to do, my age and qualifications?

Thanks so much for any thoughts.
