Do you feel a responsibility to engage in 'positive' health behaviors?

Hi everyone,

I've become interested in the different attitudes of medical students towards their health.
Do you feel that as medical students, and later as doctors, that you have a responsibility to be following your own advice with regards to alcohol, fitness, smoking, etc, etc...
Is it in some way hypocritical to ask patients to do these things if we do not do them ourselves? If it's OK to make our own choices, would you be happy to tell patients about your Saturday night antics? If not, why not?

There are some at the far end of the spectrum who believe a doctor who is obese, for example, does not portray the right image to patients. Do you think a doctor should be a role model by making good choices?
