FDA has accredited ICCBBA as an issuing agency for the issuance of Unique Device Identifiers (UDIs). FDA may accredit other issuing agencies in the future. FDA will only accept UDIs that are issued under a system operated by an FDA-accredited issuing agency. Please check the UDI webpage at: http://www.fda.gov/udi for a list of the three FDA-accredited issuing agencies.
