No Work Experience/Shadowing/Volunteering for 2015 entry! Help!

Hi people!
I haven't done any work experience yet for the 2015 entry into medicine. I am still working on it but I am really worried that it won't be enough by the time I'll be applying. I have applied for volunteering in a charity shop and the process might take one or two weeks but that's all I've got now. I have tried GP shadowing but no one replies! So if anyone's living in Sunderland/Newcastle area, can you please help me find work experience/shadowing/volunteering places. Also, I was wondering if I could volunteer at a daycare/nursery as it's in a care environment.
