Hi all,

I was hoping someone could share their own journey of their elective. Is it something completely down to you to organize and arrange or does your Medical School facilitate the elective period in any way?

I'm very keen on seeing the Medical world in Canada specifically in the French speaking areas to really practice my semi-fluent French. I was hoping if anyone has had a similar experience of electives in a foreign environment, language wise, and if it really made a difference to their language skills? (People always tell me to truly learn a language, you have to stay there for quite some time and since the elective is only for a short period, I'm not sure if it's realistic i.e. whether that would hinder my enjoyment over there).
