MedWatch Safety Alerts, May 2012
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announces safety alerts and reviews for some widely used medications, including:
• a counterfeit ADHD drug that has the wrong active ingredients,
• some hepatitis C and HIV drugs that are less effective when used together, and
• an antibiotic that has been the subject of a published study linking its use to a small increased risk of cardiovascular-related deaths.
