Drug Information Update- New FDA Drug Info Rounds Video on Communicating Benefit and Risk Information

FDA Division of Drug Information: Know the Moment It Happens

The Division of Drug Information (DDI) is CDER's focal point for public inquiries. We serve the public by providing information on human drug products and drug product regulation by FDA.

Every medication approved by the FDA has benefits as well as risks. It’s important that patients hear both and have a clear understanding so they can make informed decisions with their health care professional. Benefit and risk information in clinical trials, Medication Guides, and drug advertisements are reviewed.

The pharmacists in FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER), Office of Communications (OCOMM), Division of Drug Information (DDI) prepared an online video which talks about the benefit risk balance and how health care professionals may approach this topic with their patients. This video is part of FDA Drug Info Rounds, a series of training videos for practicing clinical and community pharmacists.
