Foundation training, nightshifts and childcare?

Posted: 25 Aug 2013 01:04 AM PDT

Hi

I'm entering 3rd year in September but I am already wondering how the hell I can work night shift with a young son? He'll be 7 by the time I start F1 (assuming I keep passing). However, my partner works offshore so is away 2 weeks at a time.

Are there any F1/F2 rotations that don't involve night-shifts?

Is there anyone else in a similar situation? What do you do?

Thought would need to be a nanny who would stay overnight when required but not live-in the rest of the time or maybe it would need to be live-in all the time?

I hate that I'm worrying about this stuff now but as a parent feel I need to be a be more clued-up about the future and have more concrete plans in place than would be necessary if I wasn't.

Appreciate any advice/thoughts.

Hi guys, any thoughts on what the newcastle cut-off will be this year? Also what would be a good score (or at least a minimum) for each section for nottingham?

Adding undergrad and post-grad degrees to UCAS

Posted: 24 Aug 2013 10:24 AM PDT

Hello - I am applying for entry to a few GEM programmes. This is my first time using UCAS as I completed my undergraduate studies in another country.

I have a high-school education, a BA degree and an MSc degree (the last of these is from a UK institution).

In the UCAS section called "Education", I cannot see where information about my overseas and post-grad study can be entered. The section says "add new school/college/centre", but when I click on it, it seems to contain only a list of A-level-granting institutions in the UK. I cannot find any of my institutions on this list. I also cannot find where I am suposed to enter details of my degree.

Does anyone know where and how this can be done?

It is entirely likely that I am missing something obvious, but (of course) I cannot see that that might be. :)

I would be grateful for any assistance.

Cheers
